Boomset Facial Recognition Privacy Notice

If the event which you will attend has enabled Boomset’s facial recognition service, based on your prior explicit consent, images you have submitted to Boomset Platform are processed through specific technical means allowing the unique identification through use of our facial recognition technology.

We require our users to give their explicit and informed consent to the processing of their images, guaranteeing a high level of data security and process the images strictly proportionate to the purpose for identifying attendees to check-in and check-out into events and sessions.

We would like to remind you that this service is opitonal and that you always have the option to reject the processing of your image through the facial recognition service by simply clicking the “Reject” button when Boomset has requested your consent to the processing. You may also withdraw your consent anytime from Boomset web platform and mobile apps. Personal Data and Basis for Collection

Attendee Images are collected via the Boomset Platform, directly from our attendees or our event organizers, for identifying attendees to check-in and check-out into events and sessions. The legal basis we rely for processing your image is your explicit consent. We will only store your images for the duration of the event. We only share the submitted images with Amazon S3 and Amazon Rekognition services for the purpose of performing Facial recognition.

We will actively review the information we hold and delete it securely when the event which you will attend has concluded.

EU-US and Swiss-US Privacy Shield Frameworks

Boomset complies with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss-US Privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the US Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information from European Union member countries and Switzerland transferred to the United States pursuant to Privacy Shield. Boomset has certified that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles with respect to such data. If there is any conflict between the policies in this privacy policy and data subject rights under the Privacy Shield Principles, the Privacy Shield Principles shall govern. Data Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, and we strive to implement and maintain reasonable, commercially acceptable security procedures and practices appropriate to the nature of the information we store, in order to protect it from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification, or disclosure.

Our sub-processor Amazon Web Services will maintain an information security program (including the adoption and enforcement of internal policies and procedures) designed to (a) help Boomset secure Customer Data against accidental or unlawful loss, access or disclosure, (b) identify reasonably foreseeable and internal risks to security and unauthorized access to the AWS Network, and (c) minimize security risks, including through risk assessment and regular testing.

You can do the following at any time by contacting us: (i) see what data we have about you, (ii) change/rectify any data we have about you, (iii) have us delete any data we have about you, (iv) express any concern you have about our use of your data and request the restriction of processing, (v) exercise your right to data portability and, (vi) withdraw your consent for processing of your images.

Amendments to the Privacy Notice

As and when necessary, changes to this Privacy Notice will be posted here. Where changes are significant, we may also email all our registered users with the new details, and where required by law, we will obtain your explicit consent to these changes.
